Tomorrow is the first day of kindergarten at the Ramona -- this should be an exciting day!!
Here are a few things to be aware of...
We plan to open the main doors of the school at 8:10. On both Thursday and Friday, we will meet in the classroom. School officially starts at 8:15, and parents are welcome to linger (tomorrow only) until about 8:25 when I will ask everyone to leave together (this seems to work best for anxious children) After 8:25 there will be a gathering for parents in the multi-purpose room.
While you are in here in the morning, be sure that Shari or I have confirmed your child's afternoon plans for going home.
Throughout the day children will be learning about school, working on art and activities and, most importantly, having fun. We plan to go to The Fields Park for morning recess and for lunch recess (be sure you have signed your Walking Field Trip form). We will be eating lunch in the classroom on both Thursday and Friday -- next week we will eat in the multi-purpose room.
We will end the day at 2:30 in the multi-purpose room, not in the classroom. We will have all the children who take the bus, sitting at lunch tables near the first door; the students who are getting picked up will be in the gym, further back in the building.
