Check your child's backpack

All students are bringing home Multnomah County Library summer reading cards (actually we were short a few), and Run for the Arts pencils.

A few students are bringing home Run for the Arts T-shirts.  I quietly slipped these into backpacks, so your child may not know that they have these.  In order to get a T shirt, students needed to have accrued 30 points -- a combination of the number of sponsors and number of laps.  In a perfect world, all kinders would get a T shirt.

Don't forget - next week features a field trip to Macleay Park on Wednesday (plan to pack lunches in a paper bag) and a end-of-year party at 12:30 on Friday (everyone is invited).

Room 2 at Roundup tomorrow

We will be singing "The Erie Canal" for the Friday morning Roundup tomorrow.  The young scholars should meet on stage with their backpacks.  We will leave the assembly after our song.

Monday Notes

Here are some notes for the week of June 2nd

The last day of school is Friday, June 13th.
We have a field trip on Wednesday the 11th.
The volunteer tea is tomorrow June 3rd.  If you have volunteered at Chapman, please join us in the cafeteria / gym after school on Tuesday.

Thank you to everyone who returned library books.  I think we are down to one missing book.
We will be going to see the 4th and 5th graders perform Peter Pan on Wednesday morning.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for our field trip.  There is still some room for volunteers.

This week's themes...

Everything Peter Pan
Extending our writing
Reading groups on Tuesday, Thursday, and maybe even Friday
More about buildings, cities, towns and country.
More subtraction.

We are very close to having enough snacks for the rest of the year.  We may need 2-3 days of snacks, but certainly no more.
